Client Stories

Notes from underwriters and brokers who asked us to examine the financial side of insurance underwriting applications.

“They flagged a mismatch between our declared turnover schedule and the limit structure on a marine cargo slip. We corrected it before the market saw the pack.”

Naree S. — regional broker, Bangkok · Underwriting application financial audit

“The report was denser than we expected on collateral notes — useful, though we needed an extra day to gather bank confirmations. Still better than learning it from a lead underwriter.”

Thomas L. — specialty underwriter · Disclosure gap assessment

“We only wanted the premium basis check. They stayed inside that brief and still caught a payroll schedule that belonged to a sister company.”

Pimchanok W. — binder support, Eastern Seaboard · Premium basis consistency check

“Clear questions for the insured, no jargon about ‘frameworks’. Our Phuket hotel risk pack went out with cleaner financial exhibits.”

Daniel R. — hospitality broker · Binder file financial review

Extended story: renewal pack for a multi-site warehouse risk

A Bangkok underwriting team sent a renewal application covering three warehouses with shared turnover figures. The pack looked familiar from the prior year, but the insured had opened a fourth site mid-term. Our audit noted that storage values and declared stock peaks did not reflect the new location, while the premium basis still used the old three-site schedule.

The broker collected revised stock declarations within four days. The underwriter adjusted the rating exposure before quoting. The client later said the awkward part was explaining the gap to the insured — not reading our memorandum.

Extended story: cargo application with seasonal spikes

A specialty desk asked for a disclosure gap assessment on a seafood exporter’s cargo application. Seasonal catch values swung widely; the application showed an annual average that understated peak voyage values. We listed the months that needed separate figures and suggested how to present them without rewriting the whole pack.

Not every gap became a term change — the underwriter accepted two months with a warranty — but the file showed the conversation happened before bind.
